For roughly 200 years, the sisters of several convents with seeming support from both the church and the state, worked tirelessly to reform and rehabilitate the "fallen" women of Ireland. No wait. That's not quite how it happened. Closer to forced labor, kidnapping and regular beatings. No talking, no breaks, no end date, and definitely no whistling while you work.
